Saint Malo, about an hour's drive from Trémuson, is an historic port which continues to be very active. The old walled town, known as Intra-Muros (within the walls), was extensively and faithfully reconstructed after the devastation of World War II.

Le Mont-St-Michel was used in the 6th and 7th centuries as an Armorican stronghold of Romano-British culture and power. The church was built in 708 and Mont Saint Michel and its bay were added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1979.
